I picked up some berliner spray and did a test today. I'll give it a few days to cure and then see where i'm at. It seems to be hanging on good at first glance.

We have had problems with coated coils in coolers at work. Pickle juice and stuff eat the coating off and then eats the copper and then it leaks. We spray that on to treat new coils and it so far does a great job

Well that's a lot of acid to survive so a good omen for success.
Aside from the tank i applied it to some other surfaces and will get some good info for future uses.
