For those not at the meeting Sunday - This is not a RACE day. The purpose is to hone your skills as a motorcyclist. There will be lots of help and encouragement available. You set your pace and above all - enjoy the day. I'm ready! One positive thing to come out of this - My bike needs a few things that I've been avoiding. I will be ordering a brake rotor and some rear shocks that have been needed. I've also got an incentive to start on the 3 rail bike trailer that is desperately needed [more-so now that I'm committing to track days].

It was nice meeting you guy's yesterday! You can add my wife Sara to the list of attendees. I am excited about this opportunity. I have always wanted to do a track day but have been a little intimidated to show up alone. This will be a great way to get into it.

My better half has a ball, and, if she's not working that weekend, will be riding as well. What does your wife ride>?

Brad, My wife just started riding this year so this will be a great learning experience for her. She rides a 80' Suzuki GS500 but I hope to have her CB350F complete by the track day. I just dropped it off at the powder coater today & have a lot of work to do to it.

I mentioned to my better half that several other members of the fairer sex would be going and she actually perked up. This may provide the impetus to finally get her to try riding her own bike. Hopefully this won't be an instance of getting what you ask for and then regretting it, but I don't think so. I might need some ideas on newbie friendly bikes, so stay tuned.

Buell Blast SV650 In that order...........both great starters, both astonishingly good on the track. The SV, she won't outgrow later The Buell, she may. My .02

Buell Blast: Rotax engine? It would feel like piloting an ultralight. And I like the the SV's look, so I could borrow when she wasn't riding. Thanks for the suggestions.
She uses PowerPoint at work, so I should put a pitch together with graphics and everything. Ehh, then again, probably not, since I've been told I'm a Luddite. She runs marathons, rides mountain bikes, etc., so I'll just tell her how butch she'd look on a motorcycle.

We have a "naked" SV650 that you're welcome to borrow. I may add another Buell Blast soon for my daughter to graduate to, from her current YSR50 setup, specifically for track days. The Blast motor is sportster twin based, essentially one cylinder removed, but it boasts an exceptionally low seat height and handles unbelievably well, despite it's low end componentry...........and it gets 70MPG

Ah yeah, I'm confused (as usual) and was thinking of the old BMW F650GS with the Rotax motors. The Buell and the SV650 sound like good starter bikes, but I think she was thinking more along the lines of about half that displacement. Of course if the SV650 is naked, I could just tell her it's a 350...
