I may come out Saturday morning for the pre-ride caffeine boost, with my carbs and components and let some of you guys take a look and give me some ideas/troubleshooting suggestions. It's going to be painful seeing all the bikes there but I REALLY want to get on the road again!!

Thanks Justin, Brad, and everyone else who let me "chew-on-yer-ear" about my carb issues. Frustrating no more, I believe the problem has been identified and now in the works of being fixed!

Hey Cullen, I told you I'd let you know how the pressed in slow jet removal on my 750 went and it was very easy. I put a rag on some pliers and pulled and twisted at the same time and they came out no problem! I'll let you know what slow and main jets I end up using. That may give you a an idea of where to start on your bike. If you are still gonna run pods?

@justin, that's good to know. I got my gasket kit in and have ordered new main jets (#110s). I also got my pods in the mail the other day. As soon as you figure what slow jets youre running let me know. I was thinking #45 since my oem are @35. Im more interested in where you find a "push" jet, seeing how there are no threads? from the slow jet.

My newest problem, the throttle cable catch is pinched between #2 and #3 pod filters. If the rubber boot were just 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer it would probably clear but I have no way of fabricating the pod filters to new rubber boots. Any suggestions/help? ? Ol Justin to the rescue again. I found pods for my 78' that avoid that issue by extending the rubber before the filter. I'll give you 2 for the 2 & 3 carbs and you can give me your 2 and everything's good. I think.

Glad to help! I took my Guzzi out for a spin yesterday and 2nd gear was making a bad clanky noise. Know anything about Guzzi transmissions? I would love to put a 5 speed in it from an Eldo.

So I have fixed the pod filter problem. I just found exhaust tubing that extends the filters out far enough for the choke cable catch to engage without any obstruction. So on to wrapping the pipes, was almost done and ran out! Guess I wrapped them really close but I ordered another 15' which should do it. I think I may be riding soon!

So I have the Honda put back together, and same prob!!! Gas is leaking from the drain tubes, seems like its the #1 and #2 carbs, I'm beyond aggravated now. Any suggestions? I'm weary of taking it to the mechanic that didn't fix it the first time and I've already spent enough $ for a complete overhaul!

It is possible that the floats are not set right, not shutting off the fuel, or it could just be leaking past the needle valve, even with the float set right. Does it leak when the motor is running or just when it's off? Regardless, always shut off the fuel valve when not in use. I know that many carbs have vacuum operated fuel valves, but they don't always shut the fuel off. I usually install a second in-line shut-off, or change out the tank valve. As for "the mechanic" working on them...get what you paid him for. I've seen the insides of carbs taken to a well-known shop. Broken parts inside and you know he knew he did it, but took the money and gave back junk.

All good advice. Especially non going back to the mechanic and making him make it right.
