I saw someone mention "bench synching" the carbs the other day. Does anyone have a source that is in plain English? Anyone willing to stop by and help woukd get paid in beer.

You want the throttle plates to open evenly or in "sync". Normally done on the bike, equalizing the vacuum draw or pull by positioning/aligning the plates while the bike is running. This can also be done to an amazing degree of accuracy on the bench with various crude measuring tools if you have linked carbs. Popsicle sticks, small drill bits or my favorite a 3/4 inch strip of paper. Start with the carb that has direct contact with the throttle cable. Lay the paper strip under the throttle plate. Raise or lower the idle screw till you have some resistance when you pull the paper out. Now lay the paper under the next plate and use the sync screw between the carbs to adjust it till it has the same amount of resistance. If you have separate or individual carbs it must be done on the bike and is abit more tedious.
