Amazing what talent, hard work, and what I'm guessing is a boat load of cash, will produce. But I'm sure by the time he's done yardape will put him to shame. (Go Team! ;D )

Good news! Bike's not stolen! (verified by the Christian County Sheriff's Dept.) Had to have it inspected for title. As soon as I get that lined out, my wife is sure going to miss me. Hopefully I can get this rig going while it's still warm enough to ride.

I'm looking fwd to it! But... you could just hop on that R6 street fighter and show up any way. :-) Trust me, she'll still miss you, even if you're not gone on a vintage bike. Peace amigo!

In news: The lady at Rebel Gears was a joy to deal with. The broad at Buchanan Wheel, not so much. I've dealt with them before and they were pretty helpful. I think I just caught her on the wrong day. I was ready to pull the trigger a set of Sun Rims and spokes. She was being such a condescending PITA, I just hung up before I lost my temper. I'll try again next week. I hope she's in a better mood, because I was on the verge of "losing my religion".
I got my bodywork ordered from Gopher Glass. I can recommend that dude so far. I won't be able to give my full report until it comes in. He was super helpful. I called and told him what I was trying to do and he really helped me out as far as what I might need, or need to do to make the bodywork fit right.

It's been a melee at the shop the last couple months. The season hit early and hit hard. I haven't had much time to work on it. But here's what I have gotten done so far.
-Front wheel laced and trued: stock XS hub, Buchanan spokes, Excel 2.15x19 dimpled rim -Just got the spokes for the rear yesterday due to a mix-up in ordering from Banke, but I've had the Excel 2.50x19 hoop for a couple weeks. That should be laced and trued sometime this week. -Got the tank (old XR style) and tail (Knight racing style) mounted temporarily to see how everything is going to fit. Definitely not fit for touring, but it looks bitchin'. -Most of the extraneous tabs have been cut off, but still a few left. I want to wait until mock-up assembly before I get too crazy cutting stuff off. -Tore the motor apart and was VERY pleasantly surprised.
I hope to have it going for Barber. I still haven't given-up totally on nickle-plating the frame. I am going to check with some powder coating gurus around here to see if I like any of their alternatives. I'd like to spend local.
