My painter tells me that Springfield Custom Powder (in Nixa, 725-3545) does a ceramic coating that easily polishes up to a chrome like finish. Have not seen this but my painter friend would not recommend it if it was not legitimate.

Any chrome shop that does NOT do nickel plating is not where you would want to take your parts. "Triple plating" process means a layer of copper on steel, nickel plating on the copper, THEN the chrome on top of the nickel. The only way chrome will last on steel. Chrome by itself will flake off sooner than later.
