The entire fairing assembly is ready to come off as soon as I disconnect the ignition from the dash, but I need snap ring pliers. Broke up the afternoon by loading updated ECU maps into a couple of Tiger 1050's. The guy that bought my Tiger bought two additional Tigers. He and his two sons are taking a big trip to Canada. I can see the motor instead of plastic:

Keep cutting an pulling parts... it really is nice to see that boxer motor.. Can you hot rod and ECU on a Speed Triple...or at least make it run the most efficient way? Lastly whats on the rack in the back ground? Keep up the good work..

Josh brought his grinder out to help me strip a gas tank, so like I said, folks around here are always willing to chop, rend and disassemble. Sorry I didn't have time to come by, I wanted to see that fairing come off. And, like Jack, I'm curious as to what's on the lift. I do like toys. :-)

Loading new engine maps into modern Triumphs is easy versus taking apart 1986 BMW's. I'm better with a computer than a wrench.
The vehicle on the lift ? It's a red car.

HaHa. Nicely done! ;D

Guards Red + split spoke wheel = sweet! Or I could just be projecting my own vehicular lust upon your garage, and in reality it's a really nice Festiva. :-) I paid $$ online for a new map for my CB750K, but I can't find the USB port on it. Apparently I'm equally lost with a wrench and a computer. Lucky for me I can get by on my good looks!

Pile of parts to be cleaned up for Ebay: It's starting to look less cluttered. Must find headlight ears! Have to reconnect wiring harness from fairing, and drill plastic impact guard out for the ignition.

That's looking great. You've made great progress.
I have a set of those ears in black that i'm not using yet if you need them right away.

Looks like your decision to buy the best possible foundation for your project was spot on. The more you strip off of it, the better it looks. At this pace you'll have it done in no time!

Me thinks taking the stuff off was the easy part. It'll get harder and slower from here on out. But I just took it for a short ride around the block -- cold and clean air -- and I can see the front wheel. I drilled out the plastic impact bar for the ignition relocation as a quick fix: Will keep my eyes open for an R80 (unfaired) wiring harness, as this is out of hand: Now to spend some time reading up on bar options...

Must bring home the calipers from work and check the fork diameter!
