O.K. I'll bite. One of the things I do when there is snow on the ground is to sort through and create a digital file of the 100's of slides I've accumulated in my years of riding [started in '63]. I'll start with the 1976 San Jose Mile. It was in an era when a ticket got you anywhere on the track. Riders hauled there stuff in vans, not semi's. You could talk to them. They would share stuff. And every bike sounded different from the next. All in all, a great time to be involved in the sport. The glory days. I remember being hauled around to various venues as a kid in the early 70's, watching these gunslingers wrestle heavy, loud machinery around dirt and pavement tracks. Remember vividly these guys falling hard, breaking bones, and getting back up to continue the rest of the weekend.
