Noise on a 97 Honda Magna 750

A work buddy of mine is hearing a "clanging" noise as he increases speed on his Magna. Doesn't hear it at idle and the noise stops when he pulls in the clutch. He says it doesn't have much of a rhythm and he can't hear it over the engine noise when he gets to going fast.

I told him I would post here and see what we could come up with. He doesn't have the bike with him today, but said he'd bring it in soon for me to listen.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!
