I run Aerostich wrap around heated hand grips.........life savers when the ride turns cold. Plus they can be removed in seconds and installed on other motos. Does the KTM put out enough juice to run a Gerber jacket liner and those aerostich wrap arounds? Questionable........More homework required

Ding! Homework done. The 530 is equipped with an AC system, just capable of charging the battery/running lights and maybe one low power draw accessory. Trail tech makes a DC setup that will handle HID lighting, heated accessories, and power small towns. www.trailtech.net/SR-8313.html

No time for a long ride, but I played around a bit closer to home on some gravel and big grass hills. Given that my last off road capable machine was an 80's 250 Honda, the power is impressive. Easy to break traction with a heavy right wrist. The incredible thing about the KTM is the weight (or lack thereof). It's going to be a fun addition. To think I almost ended up on another Japanese 250 . Malcolm showed me the light.

For really cold days, i'll just ride the R12RT. Betcha that 990 adventure will handle electrical farkles.

I like that. I know I shouldn't, but I do. :-) It has that "run what ya brung" vibe, but obviously with a lot more effort. Very cool.
