here the deal.....TX 500 , I know the petcocks need rebuild ( ordered kits a long time ago and they still are " comming " ?) but the floats dont stick and the bike just sits and pukes out gas.... I am hoping that the kits will solve this because once it dies it is flooded and almost impossible to start again without waiting FOREVER and I keep the tank tilted up and away from petcocks...it runs great otherwise.........CB 500 f .....everything is new and I can't seem to get it all to work right together....starts and runs but only for a short priod of time....elec. ign, dyna coils , plugs , wires , I can only think that the person or persons that I paid to do the carbs didn't do anything but clean out the bowls and call it good.....I have another set off of a cb 650 that a friend said to try but I don't really think that they will work ( or will they ?) is it woth trying it or should I just find someone that knows what they are doing and repay to have the carbs done ? I know the 650 runs and mainly got it for parts ( wheels ,tires , brake rod, speedo, etc ) I am at my wits end and am willing to try the swap but don't want to mess anything up or spend time making a bigger mess.........any help would be appreciated...

I don't know if the 650 carbs will fit. Are the 550 carbs synced? If not, I would start there. The tx500, I would give the carbs a good cleaning,
That's all I have for now

Thanks Greaser....its a start at least....don't know much about multi-carb set up....I have always rode big twins most of my life and a few dirt bikes, anything that I owned with more than one always got sold after a summer ( cbr 900 rr , 600 hurricane , 600 f2, and a GS 1100 es ) that is the only ones I have ever owned..Who do you recomend to do this....I have not lived in Mo. all that long ( came from Denver ) and have never even been to a shop....when I took my FXRS from Oregon to Denver it was kind of pricey to get it jetted and tuned so what should I expect to pay?
