I have this used oversize tank on the way and am going to change the color to black for use on the "Dr".  I'm told paint won't last on these tanks because they "vent" fumes through their "skin". The paint will bubble and peal. So i'm going to start with trying this plastic dye kit.  Goes on with an applicator so my thought is that it would be easy to touch up if it fades. I'll document the results here. Open to suggestions! |

Got the tank today.  Didn't have time to work on it other than to just throw it into the dish washer for a good clean. ;D  Don't tell mama... ;D |

 That's the dye separating and running OFF the plastic. So the product description was a BIT exaggerated... Anyone want to buy a spotlessly clean yellow DRZ tank? |

Have you thought maybe of using that bedliner in a can stuff to coat it?
The shop on St. Louis Street that sprays the Line-X might do it for you.

Hey thanks i had not and was going to give up and by a new tank.

Hey Tim... Plasti-Dip!! www.dipyourcar.com for inspiration, Lowes or HD for product... Go now!! If it bubbles you're only out $8 and some time for the spray and it'll peel off nicely. |

One thing is that i can just sell this tank and would only be $100 away from a NEW one, so i'm only looking at cheep solutions.
