I'm designating the "SV&CR Club Tractor". Going to rely on the kindness of club members to help build this bike to be a loner for club members who want to come on dirt rides but don't have an appropriate ride. BTW i have no head. Needed list so far: piston head - SORTED exhaust - SORTED speedo clutch control SORTED (off of "PartsKZ") handelbar - SORTED headlight - SORTED

I don't know how realistic a build is but as Brad said, it is "worth saving".
So I plan to take one step at a time and see how far i get. I will rely heavily ond input.
Starting point, the motor. The piston is stuck in the head. The head is lose from the engine case. I assume i will need to tighten it back down and then fill the top with something to soak in and loosen the piston up.
Suggestions?

Get the crud out of the engine. WD-40 (or favorite penetrating oil) both sides of piston. Let sit for several days//////week Pour one part ATF transmission oil, one part gas into cylinder (approx. 1 cup each). Light the oil/gas in the cylinder. Let the fire burn out. Let it cool slowly overnight. Lay engine on its side. Hit the piston with a wooden block and maul

One part gas + one part ATF? You better be ready to send up smoke signals!! :-) You're welcome to do that at my place so your neighbors don't have the Sierra Club, GreenPeace and the Sgf FD sitting in your driveway. And whacking a wooden block with a mallet? Now that just sounds like good, clean, All American fun! I'm starting to understand the appeal of this motorhead business. Heck, I may need to find a basket case myself to rescue.

I willing to bet that he makes it into a 2t tracker Good guess but... Actually lot's will depend on the whole title challenge. I won't spend too much actual cash unless i can get that sorted. If not i will be relying on the kindness of strangers to make a club "loner" trail rider. If i can get a title then, the party starts!

So maybe good news?
The piston is loose. The issue is that one of the rings has come out of it's slot an is hug up on a transfer port holding the cylinder from sliding off.

Reached in through the intake and pulled the ring out while spinning the cylinder around the piston. Don't think that's gonna "buff out". Inside. Only issues i can see are the gouge on the top and bottom of the inlet.
