Call Greene county and have them run it. Let them know you are looking to buy it and wanted to make sure it's clean

I have handlebars and possibly control levers and headlight. I'd like to take a look at the cylinder. Heads can be found on Ebay, along with the exhaust.

BTW i have no head. (Phil-don't say it...) Needed list so far: piston head exhaust speedo break and clutch controls handelbar headlight - i'm looking for one that looks period and bike correct. (ish) Donations welcome. ;D Hey Tim- I've got a set of universal 7/8" fit clutch and brake lever assemblies (both are cable operated), as well as a few various speedometers, some handlebars and possibly even a headlight (7 inch side mount). Let me know if any of these sounds interesting, man.

Parts list moved to the first post. Closer inspection. Does this number on the harness tell us anything? Looks like it was last inspected in 99.

Turns out the break lever was attached to the clutch cable. Swaped that and then tried out the clutch lever from "PartsKZ". Good to go! Inside the tank is clean! So on to the old "Oven Cleaner, pain removal trick". I'll let that sit on for the day.

Was that the correct number? It does not look long enough to be a VIN

Frame number off that vintage is VIN as far as I've been able to determine, check the table here... merrittmotorcyclesalvage.com/yamahaidentification.htmYou're looking at a DT175E, 1978, Dual Purpose VIN sequence starting at 2A7-000101 That's what they'd go by at a VIN inspection.

Interesting. Last night i couldn't find any 1977 heads on eBay. Only 76 or lower, 78 or higher. From that list there is no 1977 DT 175... Turns out the bike is a "78.
