Update 7-26-2014 Fin has been welded. Cylinders are at the sandblasters. I will be boring to 1st oversize as honing did not remove scratches. Soda blasting can be done at Classic Trailer on West Bypass north of Division St. Before and after. The damage to the case was repaired by filling, filing and massaging using JB Weld. The finish is great and the surface is flat enough to allow a gasket to properly seal. I will be smoothing port walls while waiting for a crank and seal kit for the engine. Aint progress sweet. And the hits just keep coming! I took out the title to order parts online in case they needed the VIN. Something doesn't look right.? Walking it out to the bike I noticed that when they typed the new title they added a "2" to the VIN. I took the title and the photo to the Department of Revenue to have them correct THEIR error. "Not so fast." To get the DOR error corrected I have to fill out 1/2 of form 5026. The Sheriff will complete the other half AFTER seeing the bike. Photo will not do. I then need to mail the title AND form AND $11.00 to correct THEIR mistake. Whats wrong with this picture?

They would've had to call the sheriff if it was me.

Way to go Tim!! Your perseverance is inspiring, amigo. Piece by piece, she's coming together, and looking great doing it. I'm patiently awaiting (see, I can learn) the finished product.

A trip to Kansas City and I have the crank! The powder coating oven [which was an attempt to remove the frozen cylinders] did not do the crank any favors. The rods are probably ok but no chances are taken with this build. The crank work cost more than what I paid for the bike but I think the grin will be worth it. After all, isn't that why we do this? Hopefully the next update will be sooner than later.
